I made an overnight-in-the-fridge yeast dough, half white and half white whole wheat, sneaking in the healthier flour for the first time with this recipe as an experiment. It worked. See that gooey goo? That was a mix of 1/2 cup fresh clementine juice, 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1/4 cup salted butter cooked for a couple minutes. It’s then poured into the baking dish and cupcake tins and the rolled up-buttered-cinnamon-sugared dough is sliced and placed in the juicy mix to raise for 45 minutes before the bake.
Fresh squeezed orange juice is typical for this roll. I had clementines.
