As I was decorating the hall and sunrooms yesterday with jewel-toned artificial flower displays, I was thinking about what cookie I might bake for Saturday Music Night. Since there were a couple ceramic pumpkins in the decorator’s closet and since I had a can of pumpkin in the kitchen cupboard, it turned out to be a no brainer. It’s autumn. It’s definitely time for pumpkin, isn’t it? Chocolate also likes the spices which make pumpkin cookies, brownies, cakes and pies so perfect.
I had some leftover fudge frosting from a recent cake, so I frosted 8 cookies to share with my sister and daughter and popped those in the freezer. Everybody gets some goody. Besides that, we got the treat for our ears when jazz pianist Keith gave us “Autumn Leaves” with all the trimmings.
