3-Chip Oatmeal Cookie: Heath Bar, Butterscotch & See’s Semisweet Chocolate Chips

Labels ready for gift boxes

Visit to a medical establishment upcoming so it was a morning to make a batch of cookies and pop them into gift boxes for two drivers and a radiology tech. I was going to make plain old Oatmeal Scotchies — the cookie with the recipe on the package — but decided to add some pop with 3/4 cup of Heath Bar Toffee Bits and a couple big handsfuls of my favorite semi-sweet chocolate chips, those from See’s Candies.

I love the See’s chocolate chips because they’re delicious, wide and flatter than regular chocolate chips, so they’re extra-melty in a warm or warmed-up cookie. Any time I go downtown Seattle to the Westlake Center I stop into See’s for a package of them. (Even when the purchase is just one bag of them, See’s hands over a free chocolate treat.)

Can you see the yum factors? How about the heart-healthy old-fashioned oats?
