I was making up the grocery list for Old Ladies day at Fred Meyer’s and noticed that today is National Cookie Day. The list already included Hershey’s Dark Chocolate Mint Truffle kisses for the seasonal batch of Minty Chocolate Snicks, so a decision was made to proceed with making the dough-to-go balls and pop them in the freezer. Thanks for whoever the decision makers were that devoted today to cookies, ‘cuz now I’ve got a bit of a jump on what will be limited holiday baking.
Did you know that the word for “cookie” is Dutch in origin? Koekje? I didn’t, until today, and now, if you didn’t know and read this post, you’ll know, too.
